INTERVIEW WITH DR. MEGHAN LARISSA GOOD
Discussion Questions
Dr. Pries portrayed the two accounts in Genesis as chapter one saying primarily that the world is good and chapter two that the world is broken. Dr. Good portrays them as the first being about the relationship between people and God and the second being about the relationship between people. Are they saying the same thing in different ways?
When you read the two creation accounts in Genesis how would you describe the primary difference between them?
Meghan, like Betty, talks about the other creation accounts of the ancient world and the differences between them and the biblical account. How significant is the fact that God did not make humans to serve him as the gods in other creation accounts did?
Meghan makes the point that the relationship between God and the people was one of friendship and shared life, but she goes on to say that God knows it is not enough and that humans need other humans – someone who is neither above (God) nor below (animals) but beside. What part of that do you find most striking?
