INTERVIEW WITH REV. DR. KARA MANDRYK

Discussion Questions

  1. Dr. Mandryk advocates for “all kinds of prayer.” It’s not hard to imagine that Christians could pray opposite prayers when it comes to politics. Is that something that should concern us or should we expect that?

  2. Although all Christians would argue that they care about the poor, we don’t necessarily agree on the role of government in caring for the poor. How did this come to be so contentious?

  3. What is the strongest argument for why the government should lead in caring for poor and oppressed people?

  4. What is the strongest argument for letting non-governmental groups, such as the church take the lead in caring for people who are not thriving in our society?
