The ban is that thing in the Anabaptist closet. Stories abound of this severe and condemnatory method of church discipline—its use and mostly its misuse. But what was it that Anabaptists intended and is there a redemptive way to employ the ban?

Stuart Murray

Dr. Stuart Murray is cofounder of Urban Expression and the Anabaptist Mennonite Network as well as director for the Centre for Anabaptist Studies in Bristol.  He is the author of about 20 books including The Naked Anabaptist and a new book coming out now called The New Anabaptists: Practices for Emerging Communities.

Doris Penner

Doris Penner is a journalist and former teacher who serves within the EMC. She has studied at Steinbach Bible College and the University of Manitoba.

Dave Reimer

Dave Reimer is the president of Steinbach Bible College and he's also spent many years mentoring and guiding church leaders and pastors as a part of the Christian Mennonite Conference.

Travis and Rosey Zacharias

Travis and Rosey Zacharias are EMC missionaries and church planters in Minga Guazu, Paraguay. They are also involved in camp ministry with Che Roga.
