In the world, but not of it, has been a particular challenge for Anabaptists who isolated themselves early in their history and still carry some of that culture. Guests today acknowledge the strengths but also challenge some of the assumptions we may make about things like holiness, our culture and our role in the world.

Shane Claiborne

Shane Claiborne is a prominent speaker, activist, and best-selling author. Shane worked with Mother Teresa in Calcutta, and founded The Simple Way in Philadelphia. He heads up Red Letter Christians. Shane is a champion for grace which has led him to jail advocating for the homeless, and to places like Iraq and Afghanistan to stand against war. Now grace fuels his passion to end the death penalty and help stop gun violence.

Dr. Meghan Larissa Good

Dr. Meghan Larissa Good is lead pastor at Trinity Mennonite Church and the theology chair of the Jesus Collective. She is also the author of several books including Divine Gravity: Sparking a Movement to Recover a Better Christian Story.

Stuart Murray

Dr. Stuart Murray is cofounder of Urban Expression and the Anabaptist Mennonite Network as well as director for the Centre for Anabaptist Studies in Bristol.  He is the author of about 20 books including The Naked Anabaptist and a new book coming out now called The New Anabaptists: Practices for Emerging Communities.

Dr. Betty Pries

Betty is a Conflict, Change, and Leadership Specialist at Credence and Co., with over 28 years of experience as a coach, mediator, trainer, facilitator, consultant and writer. Betty specializes in working with complex challenges, supporting leaders and their organizations to be at their best. Betty’s PhD (Free University Amsterdam) considers the intersection between conflict transformation and contemplative spirituality.
